Australian Science and Engineering Fair
AUSSEF 2024
Welcome to the 2024 edition of the Australian Science and Engineering Fair (AUSSEF). This year promises to be bigger and better with a number of significant changes that will provide greater scope and opportunities for every Australian student. Projects will now be judged in the 22 categories that are offered by ISEF. Students can do a project in Animal Sciences, Plant Sciences, Environmental Engineering or they can even work on technologies than enhance linguistic communication and put an entry in ISEF’s newest category Technology Enhances the Arts – the sky is the limit with the new selection of categories.
As well as the report or innovative device, logbooks or folios are now compulsory for every entry and we are introducing an online video interview for the final ISEF selection stage of judging.
We are inviting Australian school students from Years 9-12 who have completed a substantial project in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics to enter their project into our national fair. Students should upload their project reports to our online Project Submission page by Wednesday 13th November, 2024. Check out the Rules and Guidelines Page and you might be in line to represent Australia on the world stage!
This year, a three-staged national judging process will select the students who submit the best nine STEM projects into our AUSSEF competition. These students will win an all-expenses-paid-trip to compete at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), to be held in Columbus, Ohio from May 10-16, 2025 (pending funding).
AUSSEF is committed to providing opportunities for students studying within Regional and Remote areas and for First Nations students. Hence, we strongly encourage Regional, Remote and First Nations students to enter.
