Competition Details
The Australian Science and Engineering Fair (AUSSEF) will be sending out a number of invitations to all Australian high schools and K-12 schools to compete in the 2026 edition of AUSSEF. As Australia’s premier high school STEM competition, Year 9-12 students with winning STEM-based projects in state and/or national science, technology, engineering, and mathematics competitions are encouraged to enter.
Schools or students can also directly enter a STEM project if that project is of a standard worthy of Australian representation.
Entries will be submitted online and both judging stages will occur online. To be eligible for AUSSEF 2026, experimentation or construction must have commenced on or after 1st January 2026.
Rules and Guidelines
These rules and guidelines closely follow the ISEF Rules and Guidelines and familiarity with the rules is critical for students, parents, teachers, and mentors. Student researchers, as well as adults who have a role in their projects, are expected to maintain the highest ethical standards.
The AUSSEF Rules and Guidelines include some rules that relate to specific details that are unique to our national fair.
